Као студент, из идеолошких ралога, напустио Југославију и 1954. се одселио у Шавајцарску. У Лозани је 1966. покренуо издавачку кућу L'Age d'Homme која је углавном објављивала писце из словенских земаља. Током деведесетих довођен у везу са режимом Слободана МИлошевића. Настрадао у саобраћајној несрећи.
