Рођен је око 1855. године и нема података о његовом детињсту и школовању изузев да је стекао тутулу доктора права. Као преводилац појављује се 1887. године са преводом приповетке Лазе К. Лазаревића "На бунару" на немачки. Углавном је преводио дела која садрже описе народног живота.
Умор је у Загребу 24. јуна 1907. године.
